A Printing Engineering graduate turned UX leader, driven by curiosity and a passion for solving complex product problems

My journey into product design started with curiosity. While studying B.E. in Printing Technology at CEG, Anna University, I became interested in graphic design and how design could communicate ideas and solve problems. After graduation, I joined a Printing Software company as a QA Engineer. Although my job was to find software bugs, I became more interested in understanding why users struggled in the first place. A Problem Solving Process (PSP) workshop changed my perspective and made me realize that UX problems are never truly solved. Good design is about continuously improving the experience and making a meaningful difference.

At that time, UX opportunities in India were limited, especially in enterprise software. Instead of waiting, I left my QA role, moved to South Bangalore, and joined DesignBoat to study UX Design. After completing my certification, I joined Techjini, where I worked with more than 15 clients across different industries. Those projects helped me build a strong foundation in user research, interaction design, design systems, and product thinking. More importantly, they taught me how to solve real business and user problems through design.

Later, the same printing software company opened its first UX Design role, and I returned to the company where my career had started. This time, I was designing solutions instead of reporting problems. I helped modernize cloud products, created scalable design systems, improved complex workflows, and delivered measurable business impact. Today, I am a Lead UX Designer at Q2, leading experience design for AI powered commercial banking products. I work with a talented team to shape AI experiences, define scalable design patterns, and build products used by thousands of bankers across more than 150 financial institutions. Looking back, every step of my career has been driven by curiosity. I started by finding bugs, learned how to understand users, and now focus on building products that solve meaningful problems before they become bugs.
